I had to re-install my pc last night after my raid array failed for some strange reason.

Now my machine is very slow to boot into windows, I get the Vista scrolling logo then then a black screen for several minutes before I get to the log on screen.

Also just installed COD4 and that doesn't want to load at all.

Sometimes the system seems to hang for a few minutes too, no idea whats causing it.

I changed my case and cpu cooling back to air yesterday when the raid array failed, I have lowered my clock down to 3.8Ghz and temps are good. I have all the latest drivers installed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

last time it booted it seemed ok.

They are Samsung SSD's in Raid0. I did run that SSD tweak program.

COD4 still won't load even after I re-installed. Even if I try safe mode, I just get iw3mp.exe has stopped responding. Never had it do that before.

Are you running Vista? A quick Google on the error you are seeing seems to point towards a Punkbuster issue, and once Punkbuster is updated it should be fine.

No fix there for me either.

I have re-installed the game
tried it with and without the patches.
Quit xfire
Updated PB

I'm running an Asus Xonar which said the mic wasn't working, fixed that and still no good.

I re-installed my sound card drivers.

As the single player works I assume the graphics are working fine.

COD4 won't run in safe mode either. I click the MP Icon, I get the COD4 logo then a black screen then back to desktop with the error message and a close program box. Windows doesn't offer an solution.

I tried quitting all other programs and still the same.

Never had this before, don't know what else to try :(
