ok here goes

I play all my music off my PC and listen through headphones but my soundcards volume is too low, im in need of something to get the volume a lot louder, i used to have a ipod docking thing that connected to the pc and i could connect headphones to that and use it but it broke and nowhere sells the same one again since its a few years old

so does anyone know another like sound system i could get that'll connect to my computer and allow me to use that things volume instead of the soundcards?

getting another soundcard isnt an option and i'd like stuff like bass boost etc

got some...even quieter than the actual PC...great, second waste of money ive tried to get volume louder

man i just give up nothing works...

What sound card do you have, is it just onboard? Bass boost is more than likely just a fiddle with the EQ which you can do yourself, especially if it's onboard and besides being poor quality onboard is also a lot quieter than a real sound card.

You could buy a headphone amp, they range from a few quid to a few hundred depending on what sort of quality you want and what headphones you have. Good point that, what headphones do you have and could it simply be they're dying on you?

ive tried a few headphones they're all the same, and yeh i think the soundcard is onboard, i dont really want a headphone amp because they sound like they'd become distorted at high volumes, i just want something i can connect to my pc and i can use the volume/bass etc from that

the speakers i got today play the music from the computer but uses the computers volume and stuff instead of their own :| even thought it has a volume/bass/treble nob

If your connections come direct from the motherboard then you're using onboard and that is half the problem already.

Just use a headphone amp, you get more distortion from cheap/onboard sound cards than from the FiiO E5, it has it's own bass boost and will sort your problems out, those are your 2 options without spending hundreds on high end equipment.
