need a new gaming pc since my current one is freezing / playing up. heres what ive chosen. is this a good spec?

i have a current PSU 620w corsair, will this power my chosen spec or will i need to buy another?

I would drop the 2 western digital hdds. its pointless to have sata 3 mechanical hdd's. I would go for this for the same money. It will be a lot quicker, even if your planing to raid0 them.

+1 for the SSD, rest is fine. One thing - if your motherboard makes a hissing sound, just RMA it. There is a known issue with that board (it still works fine, its just annoying).

i c...but what about comparing it to sata 2 hdds? will it still have slower access times?

It should have approximately the same. As standard mechanical hard disks don't come close to saturating a SATA 2 connection, then SATA 3 on such a drive is wasted.

However, these new drives do have desirable characteristics like high density platters and large volumes of cache - these are the features that make them fast - not the higher bandwidth interface. If the exact same HDD was made, but with a SATA 2 interface- the performance would be identical.

never used an SSD before, is it just for installing windows? and then use the sata HD for games and other stuff?

Yes, put windows on the SSD. With the remainder you can install your favourite games/apps especially if they rely on HD access to speed them up. Install the rest of your games/apps on the mechanical drives.

thanks for the advice, decided to get a 2nd 1tb hd for extra space. built and running fine :D . One little concern is the cpu temps what should they be, currently it reads 50-55 degree 0% load, i know its really warm atm but its reaching 75+ degree's when gaming or is this normal for a overclocked cpu?
