PC Spec for friend

Hey guys, friend wants to spend roughly between 500-600 on new pc + monitor, I've got a rough idea myself but thought I'd post cause some guys here are REALLY good at coming up with great specs. He wants to use it for gaming mainly.

He has a case (an antec gaming one) a 620w corsair PSU already and hard drives. So just need CPU/GPU/Mobo/Ram and screen.

I would wait mate, for next week is the release of Intel's 4th Gen CPU's ... Haswell

Yeah I've heard about that, Obviously I will tell him to wait before buying it for a potential price drop.

How much can we expect the current crop of Intel processors to drop in terms of price? Just interested that's all.

Very little, If variety servers me right both Bloomfield & Sanctified actually went up in price following the release of a new CPU.....

bloody predictive text !!! I meant as follows,

Very little, If memory servers me right both Bloomfield & Sandybridge actually went up in price following the release of a new successor to them in the Intel CPU line up they have only recently really started to drop for Sandybridge and Ivy has been out for a year......

So it's better just to go with i5 3570k then?
