PC Spec query

For a second PC at home for my wife to use for work / basic games such as Two Point Hospital etc. and for my son to use for school work I have two options

One is a Intel Core i5-7400 (3ghz) based PC with onboard graphics, 8GB memory

Alternative is a HP Intel Zeon E5 1620 (3.6hgz) PC with 32GB memory and an nVidia Quadro K2000

Amount of memory and CPU speed look better on the HP but will it be more suitable in practice?

The HP is definitely the better one "as is", but it's way older and I suspect will have much higher desktop power consumption.

The i5-7400 is likely to give you less trouble and if you jam a decent graphics card and another 8GB of memory, it'll be a decent secondary games PC.

Thats true as was a HP server so can imagine it being power hungry

Will move that on and go with the i5 and spec it up a bit
