PC starts but no display

Hi Guys

my pc was working just fine till today, the screen suddenly went black and my gpu fans spun at 100%. I had to hold down the power button on the case to restart, the problem though was that the monitor now stopped receiving display from the computer.

The pc no longer now boots, all I get is a no signal sign on the monitor, I hear fans spinning, hdd activity etc but nothing on the screen.

Lights seem normal, the keyboard lights seem okay too, I have tried toggling caps lock and that seems to respond.

Could someone please help me?

can you test with another gpu? all I can think of atm is a dead or faulty gpu

Does the motherboard have a video port? What happens if you plug a monitor into that?

ETA: have you tried changing the video input on your monitor? Maybe it's looking for a HDMI signal when it should be looking for a VGA signal? And the video cable is firmly plugged in, at both ends, isn't it?

No video port on motherboard to plug monitor into. Cables are all fine plus no problems with input on monitor

Will find another gpu to test with

There is no beep to signify that the PC has passed POST either.
