Asus P5B
ATi Sapphire Radeon x1600 xt
1gig corsair ddr2 ram

Dunno about your problem but this is because txt speak is frowned upon, on this forum

oh ok, i understand about the text speak, lol, in response to the last guy, do you know what the max voltage for the Intel P D 805 is, when clocked at 3.2 gigz i run it at 1.375V thnks guys.

The double reboot was with earlier BIOS version; download latest 0711 (or something similar) and problem is removed.

im afraid youre wrong, the latest bios version is 1701, and i havbe the problem with that, i havnt yet turned off my pc, but i will raise the voltage when i gett round to it, that is why i would like to know the max voltage of the chip? thnxz

There is no "max voltage" as such, but you should stop at about 1.50v on good air cooling in my opinion.

very sorry frosted nipple but the latest BIOS is 0711, not sure what site your getting your BIOS from but 0711 is the latest on Asus' site.

I too have the same problem, i am now going to up the vcore and will report back.

what mobo do you have mine is the bog standard p5b, i went on asus and it sasy that the up2 date one IS 1701, mayby your board has a diff one to me. I upped my v to 1.4V no difference. I had a thought, maybe because the voltage is not stock it need to boot tell the cpu what to start at then reboot so the cpu knows :S just an idea

btw you are completly wrong, the up 2 date bios for me IS 1701, and i looked at pb5 deluxe and you should be running bios version 0804. lol try yours perhaps you get luck, but im not that bothered, i would just like to know.:D im an inquisitive person :P

i can assure you that that BIOS was not available around lunchtime today, it must have only been uploaded recently because i downloaded the 0711 for a friend.

the date on the site is the 30/10/2006

i have the deluxe

EDIT: upped the vcore to 1.35 and had no joy, will run at stock untill i can get more info on what to change

Im having this problem as well! System go's into a reboot and hangs!

You have to shut down with the power switch and then rebbot like that!!

By the way I'm running the bios with NO overclock or voltadge changes ATM

Still looking for a fix on the forum........

Going to try and flash the BIOS to the latest version tonight to see if that sorts it.

I have googled this subject and cant really find any sites with a fix, if any of you guy's managed to fix this problem please post in this thread :(

Thanks....

Ok sorted it now. Used the DOS version of new BIOS then used the ASUS Flash utility (ASUS Update)..

Now the BIOS is upto the latest version and I've changed some of the FSB settings, I dont get the reboot problem now!

Just for the record though, if I set the BIOS to AUTO everything and I still get the reboot issue.
It's like there isnt enough juce to kick the MB back into life on a windows restart.

So seems that the windows restart is a BIOS thing...

it's a bios issue! i'm telling you as i had this problem as did every other person with a p5b deluxe update to either the new 08xx bios or the 0711 and this will cure it as it has many others including myself!

updating to 0804 didnt make a difference.

ok aint read every post but could be a PSU issue. a lot of ppl dont buy a decent PSU which is a major cause of system stability

i have a 520w OCZ Modstream and i know of another person using an 450w Enermax Green something and they have the issue too.
