Hi guys first time post. My PC has started switching itself off at random with no warning and then keeps attempting to turn itself back on and fails. I have nothing overclocked all temps are fine. Wandering if its the psu?

Specs
I7 2600
Asrock z68 extreme 7 gen3
Windforce gtx 670
8 gig Mushkin redline 2133
X2 crucial m4 256gig ssd
Corsair tx 850 psu

could be,also check for the crucial m4 5400 hour bug

use ssdlife to see the hours use and firmware version

it might not be ssd, only way to trouble shoot it is to test with another psu if you have one, also look in the bios and see if temps aren't skyrocketing as the cpu will auto shutdown to protect itself if temps get too hot

idk what cooler you have?

try bare minimum setup

one stick of ram
no gpu use onboard (assuming you have onboard graphics)
no ssd/hdd attached then see if it boots to bios

I don't know if they are in a raid array and disconnecting them affects it?

its hard to say,if any component dies gpu/memory/hdd it will cause it to loop usually

id unplug the ssd's/hdd's first and see if it lets you bootup into bios atleast if not then it lookslike a mb fault somewhere

Well I have an asus z68 v pro,its been fantastic tbh,if you can pickup a used one,and rma the asrock, they might replace it

I've had to RMA an ASRock mobo not long ago, doing the exact same thing. Not sure about the z68, but we have a Fatal1ty Professional, and on the mobo it has Dr.Debug which lists error codes etc and when it did die and started boot looping it came up with error 55. Which was RAM not installed. Obviously it was.

Using just one stick cured it, either one worked independently just not together. OC did some testing and replaced the mobo. :)

My debug came up with a memory error as well, tried swapping the memory around but no luck. Now its not running long enough to show any error codes. How easy is it to RMA back to Asrock?

usually takes around 2-3 weeks tops, you rma to the Netherlands

email them and request an rma and tell them whats happening
