PC too hot - keeps crashing!

can anyone help ive had this problem for a while now. i do work in a hot room but only this pc crashes. ive got speedfan installed, see screen shot. ive got loads of case fans running as well.

in the bios the cpu temp is a bit higher around the 59 mark. it must be something to with heat, because when i have the air con blasting it never crashes. but i get freezing

mother board is a gigabyte 2004 RZ, im not that up on mobos im just reading that off the box.

made no changed to anything its been crashing like this for ages.

Try and check the temperature of the ram modules, or replace with ram you know is working.

how can i check the temps>?

Use a temperature probe or touch the ram chips with your finger. If your skin comes off then they are running too hot.

Try re-seating your CPU and applying new thermal paste. It could well just be that your ambient temp is so hot that the CPU cooler can't cope.

this is what i thought. tried reseating it today made no difference. wasnt much paste on the bit where the chip is but i dont have any atm. spread it around the best i could but i'll have ot get some more.

theres a pc health staus warning everytime i switch it on, just always presumed it was the cpu

I didn't even notice that - if it's an accurate read-out, that's highly highly dodgy

whats that mean then

theres not enough power coming from the psu??

be fuming if thats true as this pc was built in a pc shop. a one that ive slated for years but in a shop all the same

ok, im running a xp3200 in my 4th pc and its max load temperature does not exceed 50c. and it idles at around 32c so your cpu is runnig on the hot side.

if temps go over 65c at stock clock then you will experience crashes etc.
i advise you to check your cooling out and run snm to test it out properly.

changed the graphics card today.

after feeling around inside i discovered the graphics card was well hot. its a Gforce 4 and has a small heatsink and fan but it hasnt crashed since i changed it.

the fan was quite clogged with dust and fluff and i havent tried it since i cleaned it.

if it doesnt crash anymore then im not putting it back in.

wasnt the graphics card

still keeps going off. took heat sink off to try and mount it better again, couldnt get it back on cos the clips are so ****.

slightly lost my temper, yelled and swore at it and then launched the heatsink and fan down onto the motherboard at high speed.

over heating is no longer the problem

Time to replace it with a nice new Allendale system or Conroe if you can afford a little more

seriously lost my temper with. must be the processor but its not that hot. not that it matters now like just beeps at me. im not even annoyed at myself for doing it either.

and i hurt my back cos i had to work on the floor cos i have no work bench

wheres the union number at??
