Having built the following system:

Athlon X2 4600+
Asus M2N-Sli Deluxe
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667Mhz (BL2KIT12864AA663)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 500GB

Having installed XP home the system seems slow to post and boot.

Is the memory the problem will it need more voltage than stock?

Thanks for any advice

have you installed any drivers?...chipset, graphics etc

no the ram will not need extra voltage, its one of the lowest DDR2's you can buy in terms of speed

is your CPU running at the right speed? check its steppings in bios...if not then update your bios (or set them correctly)

what is it slow doing? just loading windows? or slow doing anything? whats it like in games/if you run a benchmark prog...3dmark or orthos etc

have you overclocked at all?/could be unstable

has the hdd been used in any other PC?/was it a fresh install/format when you built this system?

Yes I installed the chipset drivers after putting SP2 on.

I seem to recall that the sound driver blue screened on the first attempt.

Do you think I should Uninstall all the chipset drivers and try again?

The system is stock no overclock.
