My PC was built by a friend over 10 years ago, I’m frustrated with trying to get a PS5 so I’m looking at upgrading my PC.

I barely know anything about my PC but to save money I’d like reuse some of current parts to try and save some money, if that’s possible.

I play COD: Cold War and Warzone, sometimes CS:GO but not very often.

GPU: NVIDIA GTX-650
CPU: AMD FX (TM) 6200 3.8GHz
RAM: 16GB @ 1.30GHz Corsair XMS3 DDR3
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
Memory: SSD Samsung 850 Evo 120 GB
Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB
Cooling: none as far as I’m aware
Power supply: OCZ 700w

Any advice would be appreciated, I understand that all of the components are dated but if I can reuse anything it would be handy.

The only things I would recycle are the SSD and the hard drive.

To mitigate the cost of a new build you could try selling the graphics card second hand, for about £50...And the rest of the parts may sell.

I don't think OCZ have power supplies any more. To sell.

Do you have a budget?

If not the closest thing to an upgrade would be a NVIDIA 1650 graphics card.

AMD base

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £461.01 (includes shipping: £11.10)

I have added a small cpu cooler as you havent mentioned your case. Then have good luck finding a graphics card like a gtx 1660/super or a radeon 580/5600X for good 1080p gaming.

Hi, it’s a Zalman z11 plus.

For future upgrades is it better to buy a higher end motherboard and CPU now?

do you think the parts that’s You have linked would run the Games I play with a decent performance?

For gaming you don't really need to spend anymore than a board like the tomahawk, I have one with an RTX3080 + 5800X and it delivers the same performance in games as a £500 X570 board.

Cheaper motherboard cheaper CPU then spend the most you can on a GPU is way to get most gaming performance on a budget.

Rocket Lake is due (March), but Alder Lake and DDR5 is due end of the year. So....either wait for Alder Lake and pay price premium or consider AM4, which is also at end of life...nearly.

Z490 enables Rocket Lake, and Ryzen AM4 up to Zen 3 plus...

Von Scar, sorry mate I have no idea what you’ve just said.

Coffee Lake = Intel's 10th Gen for example the 10700K CPU. Current Intel.

Rocket Lake = Intel's next chips on Z490. And Z590 due in March 2021.

Alder Lake = Replacement Intel chips coming late 2021 with DDR 5

AM4 = AMD Ryzen platform, AM4 is nearing end of life, Zen 4 may be last chips on AM4 chipset in 2021/22. Or Zen 3 plus.

AM5 =? DDR 5 platform not yet announced by AMD.

The only thing you have to be careful about is the max size of a graphics card is 30cm to fit in the case.

You have the budget to buy a 3060ti which will allow you to play everything you play maxed out for about £450+ when they come back in stock

A 5600x is £319 compared to the £190 of the 3600 so a big price increase but its a nice 19% performance increase over it in general. Alternatively you could upgrade to a 5800x in a year or so when the next gen Ryzen is out and the price has dropped to a sensivble level.
