Pc wakes from sleep straight away ??

Hi,

recently ( past few weeks ? ) when I put my PC to sleep either using the keyboard sleep shortcut key or by start and sleep,

it goes to sleep but then just turns straight back on, any ideas ?

In a cmd window type "powercfg -lastwake" should tell you what woke the machine up.

Also consider MCE standby tool, always seems to fix my issues

Also check the event viewer.

In Vista, you can filter by event sources:
Kernel-Power, Power-Troubleshooter

Ah ha, in network properties I untick allow this device to wake the computer. On my network card, so it might be my router switch waking up my PC ?

what motherboard?

i've seen a few asus barebones that needed a jumper moving to the 'other' usb setting
