So I built this system about a year ago aug 2015

i7 5820k and MSI X99A SLI Krait Edition Intel X99
16gb ram
corsair 760i PSU etc

It will turn on but won't boot into BIOS.

Steps I've done so far. Swapped GPU to check if GPU was faulty, swapping rams around to see if there is any defective ram and finally tried a PSU from a different system. All did not boot into BIOS or windows.

Currently I thin it's the motherboard or CPU I highly doubt the CPU.
A few weeks back I could not use my 1 year long Overclock profile so had to step it down to 4ghz as I don't have anytime anymore to benchmark the 4.4ghz I had before.

Any help????

Bought motherboard from OCUK but its over a year now best way to go through MSI warranty website?

Remove all power, remove the CR2032 battery and go have a cuppa. Re-attach power (Keeping the battery out) and turn the t**t on! What happens then?

anything displayed on the monitor when you try and boot?

Any beeps from the Mobo?

With what you have changed/swapped already and with a CMOS reset sounds more than likely a faulty board :-/

Gonna try the battery thing now. No beeps nothing. Fans turns on no post no nothing monitor doesn't turn on.
OCuk only do 1 year warranty isnt it?

Yeah no go with the cmos tried flicking a few switches on mobo too see any of it posts. One did make the PC keep rebooting constantly.

Bit weird aint it?

So you've disconnecting everything (In terms of USB) so just the barebones and it gives no error? No stopping at the BIOS?

Power it on with the just the keyboard connected into a USB2 slot and furiously hit F2/DEL the moment you power it on (Or even hold the button down!)

STILL nothing?

Yeah I'll try that furiously hitting del thing later. Thanks! Anyone with msi morherboard and the error code led display on motherboard showing up,?

Wow I'm stumped... got a new chip from intel and it's doing the same thing is it the ram? But all 4? What's going on!!?!?!? Tried all 4 on 1 slot....

Well must be the motherboard if you got a new CPU. Is there some way to force it to update the BIOS without a CPU in on that motherboard via a USB stick? That's really only thing left to try and if it fails again RMA the motherboard. If the motherboard has a Dual Bios try switching to the 2nd BIOS too, if not as above RMA time.

It has a dual bios and a switch to choose which bios to use and a option to flash the board via a usb if all fails, the online manual explains how to do it. I would try that, could be a old bios that doesnt like the RAM you have then.

But shouldn't it work with 5820k out from the box as I don't have a 6800k

Yes it should with a 5820k but sometimes the motherboards don't like the new RAM that came out after the board was made and the BIOS they had back then.

Is the RAM on their ok list for the BIOS version on the board ? The box may have a sticker on it stating the BIOS version it came with.
