Hi,

I have recently fitted a new PSU as my other one blew up (a white flash came out the back of it) but now when i come to turn on my pc, it has power but there is no beep noise when I turn it on and nothing appears on screen.

The fan on the motherboard spins and an orange light comes on one of my memory modules for about 10 seconds then goes off.

Could any one suggest what the problem may be, I have a feeling that its my motherboard as the psu could have blown it but any suggestions will be appreciated.

The motherboard is a MSI KN8 Neo4 btw

Thanks

Greg

could be that, the RAM, the CPU, you never know whats blown when the PSU goes... I would try the RAM first as its the easiest by taking on stick out seeing if that works, then the same with the other stick... for the CPU well have you got any spare??

Thanks for the reply,

I have two spare sticks of ram but I don’t have anything else spare :(

If the ram was dead would the pc not make the initial beep noise it does when you turn them on?

not always, but I have to agree with you that it does sound like the motherboard mate... I would rather it be that then the CPU

Thanks for the replys stelly, I'm going to bite the bullet and purchase a new mobo.
