PC won't boot

This is my spec of my new build

MSI B450 TOMAHAWK
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
2 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 3000MHz DDR4

I've used an old PSU enermax liberty 620w and just added MSI 56 Vega. It won't boot - is the graphics card too much for the PSU. I have managed to get to the bios screen using an old ATI 4800 Radeon.

That PSU is likely antiquated or at least early medieval time and even more likely to use cheap grab bag capacitors and hence it would be time to replace it.

And this one has genuine China garbage capacitors buried under wiring to avoid cooling them too well.

Also Vega cards can be quite power hogging and especially factory overclocked non-reference models could draw pretty huge power spikes so gaming might not go so well.
Would expect that first stone age model to shut down when you put on high load on GPU.


Bitfenix Formula would be good starting level.
650W has separate PCI-e power cables needed for high power draw cards.
Vega's power draw spikes could otherwise well trip that artificial current limiter of those.

Then next step up is Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro with semi modular cabling.
For fully modular cabling and 10 year warranty Seasonic Focus Plus Gold is well priced.

The graphics card has power the MSI logo lights up but not enough for anything to be displayed
