Good morning guys

Just wondering if I can get some help with overclocking my i5 4690k.

My system; i5 4690k @stock 3.5ghz 0.944v
Evga 980ti acx 2.0 with backplate @ stock
ASUS z97-AR motherboard
Evga 850w p2 full modular psu
8gb corsair vengeance 1333mhz ram

Basically I've tried a few different ways in the BIOS, I've tried the Asus overclocking software and that just doesn't post, have had to reset the CMOS battery to get it to go back to default, tried a manual overclock with 1.25v and 44 on all cores and still had the same problem.

After the overclocking attempt I get a red light on my pcie port where my 980 ti is? And says no hdmi connection on monitor.

I'm quite new to this pc stuff, I built it myself and didn't have any trouble but thought I'd come to the experts!

Many thanks Kieron.

get it to boot with igpu after a cmos clear and reflash the bios again

it could have corrupted it,then plug in the gpu and see if you get a display

Got it to boot and full post, had to reset cmos battery and jumpers.

Think I may have to rma the motherboard as I can't even change fan profiles without it not posting.. Still showing via red led when this happens but the graphics card is working fine. Not sure if the motherboard is faulty or I need to update bios

HDMI works fine with me at any stage of the boot. I would definately try reflashing hte bios like wazza said, they corrupt really easily if ya get a bad overclock which causes several restarts.

I've found on some motherboards taking out the battery doesn't actually reset the CMOS, or at least it doesn't even if its left out for a few minutes. It's best to always use the jumpers (or button/switch if you have one).
