Seeking the know how of the forum gurus:)

Msi gd65 with geil black dragon memory 3570k

Pc been running fine for months then a couple of nights ago just died while I was watching a video. Managed to get it started a few times but it just froze on desktop After a few minutes. Then all I was getting when I started up was a blank monitor with C5 in the bottom right corner.
Managed to get into bios and updated the bios using flash update pc worked for couple of hours then froze again. Now when I turn it on the fan spins for about 6 seconds and then it restarts over and over. Have the number 55 on motherboard readout at restart point. Have removed the battery for about 25 minutes to clear CMOS but made no difference. Not overclocked at all.
Any help greatly appreciated thank you
 
Try with only on memory module installed, just in case your memory is having issues.

What is the make and model of the PSU being used.
 
Tried one memory stick swapped sticks made no difference.
Have unplugged external hdd and web cam and now the of is staying powered on with A2 written on the motherboard
 
Just keyboard mouse and monitor plugged in and now the hard drive is making its usual working noises. Numbers 26 and 27 appearing on mb
 
Pc had switched back to onboard graphics!
Seems to be running now. Thank you for all the help
