Hey guys I have just upgraded my motherboard, and cpu for a nice cheap price. i have put it all together booted its up and found the message "error recognising OS" ok then I decided to put in the windows xp home edition cd formatted my hard drive and when I rebooted it got stuck on this and wont do anything. Not even load into the setup or boot.

Have you got any advice? Because I have never encountered this.

yes i did just before i decided to format and reinstall windows.but i cant do anything now because it gets stuck on this screen.:(

you'll need to remove as much from the computer as possible to find out whats causing it to freeze during post, nothing else i can say really. You could try reseting the CMOS first though

Got the manual? It should give you instructions on there on where and how to do it. Basically you should have three pins on your motherboard and the jumper is currently on say 1 and 2. It needs to be placed on 2 and 3 for 10 seconds and then placed back onto 1 and 2. This shorts it and resets CMOS!
