PC working when facing motherboard back but not when standing?

Any reason this could be? :o

Edit: Title wrong, what I mean is when the motherboard is laying flat on the ground inside its case, it works.

If I put the case standing, it powers on but only occasionally gets past boot but then screens go black but do show a backlight.

Everything is getting power but not sure why when the PC is lying flat, it works.

Re-screwed the GPU and all is well now.

I think the problem stems from the fact that people using the computer sometimes hit the case as there isn't much legroom.

Thanks guys, always nice to have an extra ear handy.
 
Even knocking the case shouldn't cause that unless something is loose. Silly question but the MB is securely mounted on standoffs, yes?
