Hi I have an audiophile 2496 sound card. I'm also building a new system probably with a gigabyte DS3P motherboard. I've just read an article in the lastest sound on sound magazine where it says that you may have compatibility issues when using older sound cards with new motherboards because new motherboards using the PCI 2.3 standard run at 3.3v and many older sound cards run at 5v.

It says the way to tell if your soundcard is 5v or 3.3v is to look connection bridge on the soundcard and if it has just one notch it's 5v and if it has 2 notches it's 3.3v. I've looked at my audiophile and it only has one notch so does that mean it won't work with DS3P or any other modern 965/975 motherboard?

Didn't think PCI had that issue - from the looks of it, that card should work fine. The only similar issue I know of is the AGP voltage, which obviously doesn't apply in this case.
