just bought a 3870xt and for some reason the link with is x8 when x16 is supported ive tried 100 and 100 in the bios any other suggestions

Sounds about the right score that, whats reporting the width as 8x, is it CPU-Z, as it may just be reporting it wrong.

would it be beacuse the ard is pcie 2.0 and the board is 1.1?
