i have a asus p5q deluxe with an e8400, in order to achieve a decent overclock i need the RAM in the primary slots, however with my Xonar d2x (PCI-E, top slot) it blocks the first slot. so if i remove one of my 4870's(crossfire) and install the sound card in the space below the first pci-e x16, it will seem to work but will blue screen after around an hour after being stable. I think its cos the video card isnt in the primary slot.
the only fix i can see is to sell the pci-e Xonar and buy a pci version.
