Hi guys, just a quick question. No where seems to sell a pci-e power cable extension so I'm going to bodge my own. I've picked up come multicore wire from a highstreet electronics store rated at 2.5A and 650V I just need to know this is suitable before I blow something up! also, as far as I can tell the standard pci-e cable is single core, will this make a difference? TIA!

I know i got some cable from work rated at 600V, its 14 awg (2.5mm²). I was told to use this by the sparkies (Who wire up cnc machines). Im guessing its pretty much the same cable. The diameter is 3.5mm if thats any help. If it looks the same as the current cable you will (probably) be fine. For best results solder the wires together and use heatshrink over the joints. Looks a lot better job if you heatshrink it.

I taped the wrapper from a small pack of fruit pastilles around the resistor cable bodge I did for my fan :p
