Is there any differences between these and can you notice the difference in gaming?

This is one of the main factors what's holding me back from upgrading my motherboard just yet.

For now no difference, but its not simply the GPU thats uses the PCI-E bus, your SATA HDD's etc all run on it.

Yes if your buying anyhow, but if your buying simply to get rid of your PCI-E 1.0/1.1 then no cause even the new PCI-E 2.0 GPU's run fine on PCI-E 1.1 (aint 100% sure about 1.0).
