pci fit in a pci-ex1?

i have 2 pci-ex16 ports, and 3 pci-ex1 in my pc, will i be able to fit a pci card into a pci-ex1 port?

PCI cards do not fit in PCI-e slots.

You might be thinking of PCI-X which is not at all related to PCI-e. Confusing, I know.

PCI-e is a serial-based slot that's rather new. PCI-X is the direct successor to PCI. It's simply a 64-bit and/or higher frequency bus. It's very popular in servers for SCSI cards and the like.

PCI: 3 Slots
PCIe x1: 1 Slot
PCIe x16 (Graphics): 2 Slots
PCIe x8: 1 Slot

While you've got it open, hold up a PCI card to any of the PCI-e slots. Observe that there's no way it'll fit.
