Got an asus p5n-d mobo, theres an option to overclock the pci? Wondering if theres any point lol. Am planning on overclocking my 8800gtx with ntune, is this good software to OC it?

Thanks

You can clock the PCI upto 115mhz with a SATA drive or upto 125mhz with an IDE drive. But generally speaking no, don't bother.

Rivatuner allows you to clock the shader too.

yeah okays, might OC with rivatuner, 3dMark it, then OC the PCI to 115 and see if theres a difference...

Thanks!! If in the unlikely circumstance it makes the slightest bit of difference i'll tell you guys

Cheers:D

I have the same board mate... and I don't bother with the PCI bus, just don't see the point I'll be honest. However, I use Rivatuner and have my BFG 8800GT to 725/1776/2200 completly 100% artifact free, runs like a dream and has never crashed, anymore though on the core and it gets a little flakey, must throttle like as the performance actually goes down on 3DMark06.

For your interest, I got 15,097 3DMark06 scores with a 3.3ghz Q6600 and the 8800GT, there's something for you to target and probably beat as it isn't that good a score judging by some of these maniacs :D

Cheers
