PCI Raid Cards

Hey Guys

After trawling through all my old PC bits I have found an old P4 mobile mobo and would like to connect up 2 sata HDD's in raid 1. Now the board doesnt have any sata/raid plugs so my only option would be a PCI card of some description

Is this a good way to go? will the PCI bandwidth be fast enough? and can anyone recommend any PCI raid cards with 2 sata plugs (not bothered whether its sata 150 or 300)

For RAID1 then PCI will be fine, you'll be limited to 133MB/s across the whole bus but RAID1 will only need about half to two thirds of that depending on the drives.

There's no point in going for a branded card, any old £10 PCI SATA card should do you.

I'll have a shop round to find a card capable of doing what I need

they are really cheap, i grabbed mine from the other place, i wouldnt bother buying branded stuff
