pcie into pci express

Assuming you don't mean PCI-X (and I can't imagine you do), then a PCI-E soundcard is a PCI Express card.

Normally they are 1x PCI-E so have very small connectors, most modern PCI Express capable motherboards will have 1 or 2 16x PCI-E slots (large ones for the graphics card(s)) and and a couple of much smaller PCI-E 1x slots. Either would be fine for a 1x card.

See here for further PCI Express goodness: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

Yes, i wanted to know this too.... My Asus Xonar Essence STX Sound Card will fit and work ok in a PCI E will fit in and work in a PCI-E X8 slot ?

Wobbly? Why would it wobble? x16 slot is only bigger in length, not width, so the card will not wobble. It is secured at the bracket also, by either a screw or some contraption fixing some case manufacturers like to use. :)

You can (with slight modification to the socket) fit a graphics card in a 1x PCI-e slot and it will work - tho performance can suffer massively.
