got a (ocuk) triplex 1950 pro at the moment and im curious as to what pcie version it is.

i dont have a clue whether its version 1.1 or 1.0 and i hear newer cards version 2.0 would be incompatible with a 1.0 connector on the main board but backwards compatible with 1.1.

my main board is a asrock 939 dual vsta with a 16x pcie slot but i am again unsure of what pcie version it uses.

im pretty confused about these new pcie cards and about what version my pcie socket is as well as what one my graphics card uses any help will be greatly appreciated to clear up my confusion :)

Not sure that the 1950 is but will take a stab at it being PCi-e 1.0.

Your motherboard has a PCi-e 1.0 slot, the only PCi-e 2.0 card out just now is the 8800GT and they work fine in that motherboard you have and are fully backwards compatible with both 1.1 and 1.0.

ah thanks guys i was getting worried my card wouldn't work on a 2.0 board or a 2.0 card wouldn't work on my mainboard :)

thank yous for clearing all that up :)

now i can upgrade comp and use the gpu with no worries or double ram and whack in a better gpu assuming some daftie employs me :)
