Surely that's not true. We are talking about evidence in criminal prosecution procedures and as far as I was aware incorrect/false evidence cannot be admissible???
Yes, it's true. The courts accept that people make mistakes, and allow them to correct them. The fed just needs to write a further statement along the lines of "In my first statement I wrote the reg as AB10CDE. The correct reg is AB10EDC". That's it. I know someone who was in the witness box when they realised there was a mistake in their report. They 'fessed up, wrote another report, produced it for the court, and was cross-examined on that. This lack of knowledge of the law is why you should never take legal advice that you haven't paid for.
