Hardware level physx on display (hence the nvidia cards) to enhance "eye candy" as much as possible?

console games will likely use the new havoc physics instead as it can be accelerated on amd/nvidia gpu's

BTW lol someone got kicked out of a forza event for taking a photo down the back of a locked cabinet
they claim the photo was a laptop and a punch of wires lol

And because of the delay the PC version wont do as well as in sales as it could have done, catch 22.

some company sold a game last year that sold more on pcthan it did on any single console alone.

It was really close about 150k units in it but pc sold moar.

I think a lot of people are taking different things away from the article. The article is pretty balanced in how it's written and is not particularly bashing anyone or anything. It's merely pointing out how it looks...

Had Microsoft not had such an abysmal E3 then this would be a non story, no question about it.

microsoft are using nvidia gpu at e3

It won't need half the code that the normal widnows 8 does to support the myriad of devices it does. Its only ever going to run on one graphics card, one sound card, one processor, one motherboard etc.. so everything related to supporting anything other than this spec can be binned, and we're talking fundamental changes to the core here, not just un-installing some device drivers.

you don't really know what you are talking about
I can rip out all the drivers for windows infact people have been doing it for years with the "lite" versions of os.
it does not mean they run faster just the install size is much smaller.
what makes it run faster is turning off all the useless services which most people do anyway and the fact the devs are matching their visuals to a gpu's strong points.

I'm not even sure you can argue thats the case anymore with consoles running kinect , facebook , integration , all the social stuff running in the background these days makes it about as bad as a pc.
and they are all running 86x this time which makes them even closer to a pc.
I can see them being emulated uber quickly even if the copy protection doesn't get cracked.

someone will probably rip wh whole OS from the xbox and make it pc bootable
