Peculiar PC Boot Problem

Just bought an ASUS Striker Extreme Mobo. Have everything connected, but if I enter the BIOS, then after say 10-20 seconds, it freezes, then I have to re-boot(happens all of the time). If I leave it to run it's course then press F1to continue when asked,(after telling me that a new CPU is detected and the BIOS needs flashing) it goes as far as the Vista login screen then crashes(don't know how to insert screen shots of BSOD, sorry), I have even tried to boot from CD, but I get an error message saying "ISR BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK, THEN PRESS ENTER", aswell as using one Gfx Card and one stick of Ram. I don't know whether to clear the CMOS, but as I'm new to PC building I don't want to start messing around. I don't have a floppy or USB stick just a card reader that's if I have to flash the BIOS

Thoughts anyone...?

What voltage are you running the RAM at? Make sure you up it if the RAMs default is higer then the normal 1.8.

Clear the CMOS like you mentioned. Then go back into it and load optimized defaults quickly, save and reboot, then back into bios and stick you memory voltage up to 2.1v, save and reboot. Hopefully that should make it stable enough to spend more time in bios to set the ram timings. You can probably find the timings and voltage your memory should run at on a sticker on the side of the modules, so make sure the timings and voltage is correct

I have changed the voltage to 2.1v, and seems stable enough, I can now login and see the desktop, but it still crashes shortly after that, is there anything I can do about that?

The memory timings that are on the memory sticks are 5-5-5-12. So I'm guessing this is how it should be. tCL(CAS Latency) 5, tRCD 5, tRP 5, tRAS 12, the Comand per Clock (CMD) has been left at auto, I assume that I have done this correctly..? Albeit I cant see any voltage settings on the memory sticks itself.
