I was just browsing the forums and out of nowhere my screen turned green and the pc made a loud peeeeep noice:eek:. So I turned it off. But all seems fine now. Any ideas what may of cause this. Slight voltage drop?

Bit worrying :(

Could be a lot of things, really. It could have been overheating, undervolting, excessive droop, or any number of software issues, particularly related to video drivers.

If it doesn't do it again I wouldn't worry.

if you're using a DVI-->VGA adapter, you must ensure that the DVI adapter is screwed in to the gfx card firmly. even a millimeter of wobble can cause the screen to do weird things (INCLUDING going green)

What psu do you have ? though it seems strange that it would be undervolting or overheating when only browsing

Have you played any games yet? Perhaps go paly some games or run it through prime and see if it happens again.

It's the first time it's done it. Checked my cpu temp (Sitting around 42). Played battlefield 2 a lot recently and that runs fine. Got a tagan u35 psu. Also got surge protection.

"Aod" don't think it's that, because the pc would make a peeeeeeep sound. :)

Running vista 64 btw.

probably just a memory management bug. Could have been caused by voltage fluctuations or just a small bug in vista (there probably are a few at the moment). So long as it doesnt happen again I wouldnt think its much to worry about.

My computer did that a while ago, turned out to be faulty RAM, easiest thing to rule out anyway as you can just test with memtest.
