Lo all

Im starting to amass too much gear for my trusty Tamrac and need to start storing things individually.

I want hard cases, such as the Peli Case range, but a cheaper or unbranded (Calumet?) alternative. I know you get what you pay for, but at this stage i just want to be able to transport the gear without worryign about losing pieces. The reason for the hard case is that it'll be sitting on set and i dont want to risk people dropping things or treading on them.

Any ideas? :)

Personally, I don't use peli cases, but that's simply down to the fact I don't own enough kit to warrant it, but I do use them for radio gear I have. Having lugged them around airports, and always arrived in perfect working order, I cannot fault Peli cases one bit!

As you said, you get what you pay for, and I for one, would recommend the Peli cases :)

Get a peli...they are good and trusted for a reason.

How much is your gear worth? How much is the peli?

Do the math, the answer should be easy.

I can't budget for Peli hence asking for alternatives. A cheap foam hard case is better than what i currently have which is pieces of follow focus, glidetrack and battery grips spread all over my room with literally zero mode of transport.

I love my Peli-case... I think it's worth saving up the extra cash. I'm actually thinking about buying another small peli case for my C100... (When it's released), they are built so well and I have full confidence when I'm transporting my gear that it will be safe chugging along in the boot of my car!!

Yeah i mean, i understand that pelicases are good. Ive used them. I literally have NOTHING to put my stuff in and cannot budget for a pelicase. There's not really an option for saving up. i need storage. Now.

Don't worry, i'll go google it.

Damp cat,

are you still living in the UAE?

if so try the grand stores at the marina mall in Abu Dhabi as they have pelis in there and are quite well priced.

i looked into buying one myself but didnt have enough lugage allowance when i came back from there.

I have a couple of Peli cases that have been sitting in the loft for a couple of years without any serious prospect of use. If you're back in the UK at some point you're welcome to take a look. Details in a very old post here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18112839

I'll throw you a trust message.
