Theres various peltiers for sell on the bay all at different wattage. Which would be the better option to go for if say I'm using a 2x120mm rad. Obviously just linked in a loop with the cpu and nowt else.

I wanna run a system with temps realisticly around the sub 10degC mark.

cheers

tbh youd be better off sending an email to fatty / fattimus (cant remember what he goes by on these forums :o ) regarding chiller conversions :)
Fatty1 on these forums. I thought pelts werent all there cracked up to be?

I've discovered, to my own discredit that Peltiers can be lots of hassle, and unless you're careful about what you get, they can be usless as well.

If you're looking for sub 10'C, you'll need a pelt of AT LEAST -twice- the wattage that your CPU puts out.

you imagine an A64 3000+ putting out 110W at stock voltages, you'll need a 226W Pelt as a MINIMUM. Overclock and you'll need a 320W... soon it becomes expensive...

Pelts = cool

but also
pelts = hassle and much cash for little gain.

IF you're after a performance boost, you won't really see one until you get sub -10'C and for that you'll need Phase change.

Just my 2 cents :)

A 172w tec will be around -18c with no load. New GPU's need 226w pelts. Higher clocks need stacked pelts and they are just silly. Not to mention the multiple PSU's and 120.3 with 6 fans.

IMO just don't do it!

I had an 1600xp chip @ 1950mhz with a 220w pelt a few years back, the idle temp of this was 31c, I can remember being quite disappointed considering the cost of the setup at the time. With no load it was hitting -18.
