Pendulum - Similiar artists?

I'm completely hooked a Goldie mix the moment. It has virtually every classic dnb song ever on it:

Goldie - The Classics/ Drum n Bass Arena

Definately one to try.

You'll probably also like DJ Marky.

Aphrodite are awful :p
yup after listening to a few recommendation on here they seem average at best.

Been listening to noisia all day, with block control being particularly awesome. Logistics is awesome, and after listening to the samples of the album tracks il be order the cd in a few days. Checking out some cyantific and the hospitalised album that is a best of from the last 10 years.

It's gonna be a DnB xmas :D

you won't find another band/group who appeal to you like pendulum do. it's called clown step on the scene, it's like the papa roach of dnb (to dnb fans).

sorry

O i will, andi think i have. Ive grown tired of the pendulum album as it just sounds..well. too well produced. Very very impressed with the artists i mentioned in the lastpost and will be looking around the scene some more for less well known artists that 'float my boat'andget my dancing. Trust me in what im saying that pendulum arn't the be all and end oall of dnb. They may have got me into the genre, but are certainly no my favourites anymore.

Plus, i hate papa roach :p

At my coursemates house before going to isis tonight, and they have trance on. Soo crap, and am playing some noisia as better club preparation music, even tho its a cheese club.

1. Trance isn't crap (coming from a big dnb-head)
2. Get yourself down to the Garvey and Stealth. The fact you are going Isis depresses me :(

Oh and:

That album is amazing. You can't beat Klute. He played Image Bar in Hockley last night, but my mates didn't want to go, me = sad :(

I feel exactly the same mate. i really want to try demo or detonate, but no one wants to go. They all think it's jsut for pill heads, and it's going to be full of blokes

1st time ive been to isis in 3 years, and it was better than last time, but not by much. Many dirty girls around, especially at 10.30pm with only ladies on the dancefloor. Ended up as a typical AU night in the end, so wasn't great.

Il have a lissen to klute, but ive totally forgotten where image is in hockley. I only really remember, VR, and Browns, then of course all the bars in the lace market.

Andy C - Nightlife (the original) should be everyones starter.

B@Th*nG

Fixed :D

But yeah, if you are getting into this sort of stuff, Andy C has some awesome sets out.

Nikki Blackmarket has a good "introduction" DnB CD, a good few years old now but I forget the name. I'll see if I can dig it out.

I'm a massive fan of Dieselboy too, but it tends to be darker and heavier than Pendulum. High Contrast is lighter sort of stuff.

Go to www.pandora.com, type in Pendulum and get ready for some awesome music :D

As someone else has mentioned, Breakbeat Science Lesson 3 with Klute is absolutely excellent, as are the other 4 albums!

Check out www.pandora.com and enter pendulum for other artists just the same, that's how I came across Klute.

Off the top of my head it's also worth checking out...

Koas, Karl K. & Siren - Rush
Black Sun Empire - Arrakis
Endemic Void - Off The Market
Juju - Tribal War
Deep Blue Something - Do You Voodoo

:D

EDIT: Just read through the thread again and saw someone else mentioned Pandora before me ;)

It's hardly Clownstep. My God, DOA has a lot to answer for...

Apart from the fact that nobody can now really decide what defines Clownstep (Is it the 'wobble' bass? Is it the swing on the hats? Is it the circus chord pattern? Is it the notched bass?) it's gone from being a relatively descriptive term (thanks, DOA) to a derogatory term for any artist that has fallen from grace - Pendulum being the best example to use here.

Little if anything of the original Clownstep 'sound' could be attributed to Pendulum, yet as a simple result of them doing the unthinkable in the d'n'b scene and actually making some money, their sound is now labelled as Clownstep and they are seen as sell-outs and passé. Fact is that or a while, everyone wanted that Pendulum sound but once people figured out how to emulate it, the scene discarded the group as quickly as it embraced them.
