Penryn CPU Benchies!!!!!

Seen this the other day.

Looks very impressive.

Faster but much lower temps. Overclocking potential should be huge with those temps and them given TDPs if they are true.

Wow, uses less power and is cooler under full load than the Conroe when idle!

Combine that with the enhanced performance and these things will be beasts!

When they due out? :p

I'm thinking that the Yorkfield is looking good! If they have one priced near the q6600's current price next spring, then I know what my upgrade choice will be :D Until then I suppose I'll have to make do with my C2D @ 3.6 :p

If I upgrade next spring, I will have gone from a 90nm to a 65nm to a 45nm cpu in the space of a year! Intel have really kicked it up a gear in terms of die shrinks and new architectures with the new TICK TOCK development roadmap.

any estimated prices?

They arnt coming out until next year unless Intel feels its necessary to bring them forward just to annoy AMD.

Im guessing that prices will be the same as current C2D prices.

extreme editon is out this year for $1k

normal ones next year.

Hopefully by the time these new intels come out there'll be some games that can fully take advantage of all the cores and speeds.
Apparently Crysis is meant to be we need more than that. I'm just thinking we'll have so much power and so many cores left redundant for the average PC user
