pentium e6500 overclocking

i would like some advice on how to overclock this cpu , this is my first intel build so any advice that would help me not blow the cpu is welcome :)

cpu: pentium e6500

mobo: asus p5e3 pro

memory: kingston valueram pc3-1066 (1333mhz) 2x2gb

whats the best way to overclock it , it is not what i am used to as my last few systems were amd based lol

A good place to start is the stickies at the top of this forum. They outline the tools you'll need and how to calculate different settings. I'm currently using it to OC my Q6700.
The other way is to stick something like "OC E6500" into the search window to see if someone has asked or given info on this topic before

Personally I would keep the volts at stock, max out the multiplier and gradually increase the FSB 10-20Mhz at a time until it refuses to boot, then up the volts a notch try again etc. When at your desired frequency test the stability of the overclock using IBT/Orthos.

Little tip, keep the RAM on a 1:1 divider to start with, just to concentrate on the CPU initially.
