Now, I have been playing the 2010 World Cup game online quite a bit recently.

I have noticed something though (that I think is present in FIFA 10 aswell).

Is there some sort of balancing system in place for online games. I just played someone as England and they were Pakistan.

Their wingers were outpacing Ashley Cole, Strikers beating John Terry in the air to headers... and they are a one star team.

I've noticed this quite a bit, one game your controls feel quite responsive, players strength shines through and they can dribble better and so on.

Then the next game it all turns upside down and the controls are sluggish, the players are slower... all as the same team?

Has anyone else noticed things like this? It's pretty stupid.

yes everyone counter picks but what you talk about only comes in to play in the online world cup mode it uses a handicap system to encourage people to use lower teams.

For example fifa world cup 2010 game everyones spain the only team you should use against spain is holland as the cpu sometimes decides to make spains passes randomly miss against holland.

i know people have figured this out now as veerytime i pick england they counter pick with germany and so on.
It's hard to explain what i mean but say if i use enland against spain then all my england players simple passes seem to fall to spanish feet aswell as feeling slow to turn etc etc etc online is full of counter picking now most games are spain vs spain.

As well as this all i am starting to see is that lame 6-4 or 4-6 100 aggression formation which makes it near impossible to score against.
really gone off the game all people care about is the win rather than playing footy, in the lower leagues like division 8 and below it's much more fun but soon as you go div 7 or higher all you see is that lame 6-4 formation.

their is a secret random attribute in the game.

this attribute is called morale.

just like in real life you do not know if someone is going to have a shocker or blinder of a game so therefore this attribute is hidden, in previous fifa 09 this attribute wasn't hidden. it was a bar which would be different colours depending on the mood of the player. you then setup up your team differently each game because you knew who was going to play well and who wasnt. they have now hidden it so you pick who you think is going to have a good game and have to now use subs if they play shocking, just like in real life.

morale can be anywhere between 1-99.

sometimes when i use messi he flys past defences and can score from anywhere therefore his morale must be high near 99. sometimes he just plays normally, fast and creative and his morale must be about 50. sometimes he cant pull a single trick off and gets the ball taken off him constantly and nudged off the ball all the time, therefore his morale must be about 15.

this makes the game more realistic, you notice this if for example you play against a mate of the same level using the same teams over and over again. you will notice how the same player plays differently in each game.

I've thought I've noticed the players improving after scoring a goal
quite a few times you end up with chances right after the kick off after the goal

I've not played FIFA for a few years but from what I discovered back then it was like this in single player mode too, as soon as I would take the lead the AI would seem to become unbeatable all of a sudden until they scored a goal and then played like idiots again until I got back in front.

Yeah that is quite common in football games, even the less known ones seem to have this features.

I find it quite different to that tbh. I find games tough until I get a goal and then the opposition just crumble and I'll get a few more quite quickly. Or if they score first then they'll become unplayable.

Just had the morale swing 2 matches for me as USA, first one Bradley was absolutely on fire, pure MOTM and good old Altidore couldn't hit the roudn side of the earth, as for his headers, lets not go there! But 1 goal against them and the all turned to absolute jelly!

Second match, Bradley was a great asset, not as good as before, and Altidore screamed home a last second 35 yard bullet! :D

Some matches online make you remember why you endure the cutbacks quitters, spain etc...!
