Hey all,

Bit of a noob question, so forgive my ignorance.

I set up an 8tb RAID5 using a Dell PERC 5/i RAID Controller about a month or so ago, all has been working perfectly without any issues.

I just checked my Optional Windows Updates today (don't check optional very often) and it shows an update published back in May 2011 but in the details it says it was released in Sept 2009.

Anyway, I can't find out much information about this update and was wondering if it has the potential to mess up my existing RAID?

All is working without issue and always has been so I am reluctant to do this update, but I was wondering if this is just me being paranoid and it is actually harmless or are my concerns legitimate?

Details of the update are given as:
Code:
DELL - Storage - DELL PERC 5/I Adapter RAID Controller

Download size: 31 KB

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

Update type: Optional

DELL Storage software update released in September, 2009

Cheers mate, I'm thinking I will just leave it alone. As they say "if it ain't broke then don't fix it".
