Hey,

Can anyone take a wild guess at the % of users on OcUK that are using IE6? I want to change my sig to a PNG to remove the matt borders on the transparency but IE6 users can't see it.

Thanks

Edit: Screw it. If they're still using IE6 they deserve not to see it. Can you tell I'm bored with revision and anything else keeps me busy?

There must be some sort of stats package on the OcUK server, if you really wanted to know one of the mods might know who to task.

It's not really worth it for such a small, insignificant thing like a sig.

Very few I would've thought. I get about 1.6% of visits on IE6 at http://sigrotor.com/ if that's any indication.

Thanks mate. Thought it would have been higher than that, especially if people browse while at work.

According to W3C IE6 usage is still at 20% as of November last year - here

However I'd expect that to be far lower on a techie forum such as this. Also, I agree with if you're still using IE6 you deserve to be sodomised by a horny elephant with crotch-rot.

Remember that the W3C site isn't necessarily a representative sample of the Internet, though.

this might not be an option, but couldn't you blend it to blue and use png/jpg?

I was using a blue background and doing away with transparency all together but now I've started using the Black OcUK theme I wanted to use transparency so it would blend in to both themes.

Ended up with PNG.

I have no idea how FF3 is still behind IE6 overall :(

I know, but i was surprised that the figure there was still so high - especially considering it'd be visited by people with at least a clue as to the workings of the net and up to date browsers.

W3Schools isn't W3C!

I expect they aggregate results from other sources too.
