Performance difference with different multiplyers?

Hi.

Currently running at 8X Multi with 425Mhz FSB with my ram at 850Mhz so I guess thats 1:1.

Would the performance be any different, maybe lower or higher if I ran with a 9x multi so the FSB would be running at a lower clock?

A tiny bit slower with the higher multi and lower FSB.

So better off leaving it alone unless I can clock higher?

Also my ram is at 850Mhz 4-4-4-12, would 1000Mhz 5-5-5-15 be faster?

Very little difference in it. I'd guess that 850mhz 4-4-4-12 would be a little bit faster. But you'd have to benchmark both settings to see.

850 @ 4-4-4-12 will be faster.

with good sticks you could handle up to 880mhz @ 4-4-4-12 so you can try that.

I wouldnt go for 5-5-5-15 timings unless you get to 1090-1100mhz.

Is the Memtest in windows good for checking stability?

It's ok. OCCT is a better test in Windows.
