Hi there i have recently upgraded my entire system from overclockers, and have come to these forums for some advice, my hardware all seems to operate fine but for some reason i dont get constant fps in games, its always varying
for instance
in Battlefield 3 im getting anywhere from 60 to 122 fps with everything on ultra and cranked up, but it always bounces up and down between them, not that this is much of an issue but i was wondering what might be causing it and if there is something i can do to fix it
i get this with all games i have tested as well as Shogun total war 2 all maxxed out

My system is
G.1 Sniper Gigabyte x58
Intel I7 960 (oc. 3.6ghz air)
MSI Geforce GTX590
24GIGG Kingston HyperX Ram(1800mhz oc)
1200watt corsair PSU

any help or explanation for this will be much apriciated
Thanks in advance
Jack

What monitor do you have?

You can set Vsync to be on in-game or via the nvidia control panel to set a constant 60 fps (assuming your refresh rate is 60Hz).

Otherwise this behaviour is normal. Different parts of the games are harder on the hardware than others.

And the Nvidia driver shows the SLI option?

You can try setting single monitor performance also.

i dont have a SLI option but i do have a multi GPU And Physx Config tab

will try single monitor performance now, dont know why it defults to the other one :P i only use 1 monitor :D

In areas of a lot of action, foilage etc the frames will drop and raise up again, best way to see it is to look at a battle scene and then run straight into a wall and see how the frames rise.
