Hi there,

1 of my pci-e 1x slots is too close to my duel slot gpu, causing it to overheat when my sound card is placed there, i am forced into having it in the remaining pci-e 1x slot above the gfx card. This brings its own problem. i cannot have my ram placed in slots 1a and 2a, or 1b and 2b. i have no option but to use slots 2a and 2b :(.

So my question is how much performance am i loosing in this set up, over a duel channel one?

If it makes any odds, im running ddr2 corsair xms2 800MHz (5-5-5-18) @ 755MHz (ish still playing) @ 4-4-3-10

Thanks.

there could be a slight performance hit, i remember on a old pc i had with 800mhz ddr2, running it single channel took an average 2-4 frames per second off games.

look on the bright side, overclocking your cpu/graphics card will cancel out any performance hit it might have. I dont think you will notice too much though.

i dont think its going to make a huge amount of difference anyway. since moving into the girlfreinds i havnt even done any gaming, so its basicly a big multimedia machine atm lol
