Performance to be gained...?

I'm sorry, but saving £365 a year isn't a big deal for you? Now yeah, no point in purchasing hardware purely to make that saving because you'd never recoup the outlay, but if you're planning a new system and hardware choices could net you over 300 notes in a year, why in the blue hell would you not factor that?

No, no it wouldn't, if it's something I like then what's a quid a day really? People smoke £20 a day and don't bat a eye lid.

But anyway, it's not going to be a quid is it? I was just saying...

...then what's a quid a day really?
The difference between a 3070 and 3080 over the course of a year? And you'd be surprised it really can be a quid a day in some circumstances.

Like I said, if somebody went "oh I know, I'm going to replace my system because I can save a quid a day on leccy" then yeah that's just daft. But, if you were to say "I'm looking at components for my new build, and X, Y and Z will save me a quid a day" then you'd be a silly to not at least consider it.

Hell, 300 quid a year for 3 years would net you a chunky budget increase.

I have never considered efficiency as a factor, but with the landscape being so even it's definitely a stand out positive. Lower power equals smaller power supply and cheaper motherboard and less running cost, not something to be ignored on a level playing field.

OP's system is much too high-end to be considering any type of upgrade at all anytime soon, if we're honest. Especially if the main use is gaming
