Are there many of you using the likes of Adidas Techfit, Nike pro, Under armour etc?
I've been thinking about buying one of them to try out, I'd mainly be using it for football, probably as an undergarment now and then on its own in the summer?
Has it had any effect on your performance or recovery?

Are you telling me I should or shouldn't?
My original post said that I won't be using as an undergarment
No it doesn't. See this part:

:/

I can't wear anything under a footy shirt in the winter, never mind in summer.

To be honest I have never as yet worn anything under a football shirt either. I'm assuming these shirts must be comfy though?

If your a professional sportman where that extra 0.0005% will make a difference go for it. Otherwise it marketing hype and a fashion statement.

The Under Armour stuff is really good imo. Both the Cold Gear (keeps you warm) and the Heat Gear (keeps you cool). Expensive though, luckily I got some cheap from work.

I'd say UnderArmour is in a league of its own when it comes to this.

I wear it for running out in the cold.
Have some of the tee's which are similar to cotton to feel but are the dri-fit style - so comfy :D
Not cheap though (unless you live in the states :p )

I purchased some Nike and adidas (clima cool type stuff) in the sales at christmas and tbh whilst it doesnt give any performance boost they are usefull at soaking up the sweat etc, you dont feel sticky and sweaty tbh.Its not worth paying the RRP for them mind.

I know a fair few people who use them and recommend them. The UA ColdGear is supposed to be excellent.

Too expensive for me mind.

The UA Coldgear is excellent. I've worn the balaclava, gloves and mock turtleneck all winter when exercising in temps well below freezing. I'm not sure I'd bother with the hot weather stuff though.

Not a lot of love for the Heat Gear range sadly. I do like it, give it a try. It does sound strange putting on another layer in order to keep cooler but it somehow works :p

I wear a Nike Pro Compression long sleeve top under my footy shirt on matchdays. In winter it is a god send as it is a compression top it tends to keep you warm.

They also do a 'Vent' top, basically the same but it allows air to brush through it and cool you down.

I picked up a cheaper Umbro '37oC' from Sports Soccer for the summer, it's a red undershirt that draws sweat away from your body. I'm happy with both products and it's better than a T-Shirt as it actually attempts to do something and is comfortable because they are skin tight. It's like another skin.
