Perfume bottles and boxes

Ok, right for some reason I've been taught to always keep these even after I've finished with the spray itself.

Is there any point to it? Why on earth was I told this? Can I throw them away?

See that's what I was told. But I have never once seen on ebay "2nd hand perfume bottle, no spray" being sold anywhere. I'm sick of lugging these around with me, I might just throw them at scallies or something. GArrr

Keeping perfume in its box means that you are keeping it out of direct sunlight which kills the perfume. You often see old bottles with really dark yellow / brown liquid in, as this is what the sunlight does.

There is a market for 2nd hand bottles and boxes, but it tends to be slightly more unusual ones. These are either expensive, very limited editions or ones that some z list celeb has brought out that will only be on the shelves until Xmas. Scents in Lalique bottles have fetched handsome prices, but these tend to be older ones.

Anyway, it's a hobby and keeps you off the streets.
