I built a new i5 based base unit with lots of help on here several months ago, the only thing I kept from my old base unit was my Enermax Liberty Modular 620w PSU.

Now it has started making pernament continuous clicking noises.
Read about the coil noise issue psu's have, don't think this is the problem here as had this psu several years and never heard it till now.
Taken it out pc, cleaned fan/unit inside out (compressed air/cotton buds) & made no difference.

Is there anything else I can try?

Do you think it needs replacing asap? maybe on it's last legs & may kill other components if it dies.

If so, what psu would be a good replacement?

Its definitely coming from the PSU? you can rol up a magazine and hold to your ear to help locate the noise.

I stopped all the case fans 1 at a time 1st, then took side panel off to stop bottom case fan, which did but could hear it straight away coming from psu 100% only thing at the bottom of me case.

OK then, you've tried clean the psu fan and checking for obstructions (cables/wires inside), so what sort of budget are you thinking? any future GFX upgrades?

Thanks for the link/s Stulid, will give that a go, just need to remove the psu & get the size for a replacement fan or are they all the same size?

Do you have any suggestions for which fan I should use for the replacement?
I would like to also buy a replacement in advance for a budget of upto £100, what would you suggest at the mo? or should I ask this after I have tried the fan replacement method.

Well I looked at reviews and its 120MM fan, replacement PSU's up to £100,

Modular - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-001-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1497
Non-modular - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-005-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1497

And that will leave you future proof for a long time.

The only thing I have planned future is sorting out me monitor. lol

Love the Modular 1, do they do lower w version for less £'s, don't do crossfire ect, don't plan to yet.

Thank you Stulid, will try the psu fan swap & would buy the Antec TruePower New Modular 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply for £69.98 but the reviews put me off.
