PES 06

Easier then Fifa 07, and nice and fluid - but honestly, i think Fifa is much better - more chllenging def better graphics and better ability to edit/transfer etc...

Still though a relatively easy 1K just time consuming

Great fun online though, i was shaking during my first ranked match, was so close

Not too fussed about the graphics as long as they look decent. Just dont wanna end up with gameplay like fifa 07 again.

A year ago, I would ave said PES without any doubt, but now......

I do belive that FIFA turned a corner this year and has much better gameplay than previously.

Konami maybe living off a previously earned reputation and not doing that much to retain it.

if ure actually into footie then PES > fifa. fifa is nothing on PES. Also liking fifa whilst at uni is a crime - expect to get abused for saying fifa > PES :P

Pro evo has been way ahead of Fifa for years.

Some say the gap was closed a little this year, to me no matter how dissapointed some people were with elements of pes6, fifa 07 was still the same old rubbish.

if only EA could sort out the terrible gameplay of the Fifa games then fifa would be a true classic. EA somehow manages to suck all life out of their sport games so that you might aswell be a robot playing it....

Fifa 06 was actually not bad for gameplay, Fifa 07 is terrible again. If they only bloody worked on it and did it properly then Fifa is a great game - it has all the licences, great manager and season modes, great everything else except the gameplay which means I will never buy it.

Pro Evo on the other hand has great gameplay, truly how football games should be, but the lack of licences is annoying, the master league mode is boring and the 360 is stripped down to it's pants with all of the cool features on the PS2 version being MIA....

So Pro Evo wins simply by gameplay, which in a football game is always number 1 priority.

PES6 all the way...Some online matches are quite intense. I managed to somehow claw my way back up from 0-3 down to 4-3 up towards the last 10 minutes. Then i just lost possesion so easily after that and the other guy was playing a nice passing game so i pretty much had to defend with 11 players behind the ball for the last 10 minutes with some close calls.

If you want gameplay, PES is for you. Graphic are not as bad as people say, they are a lot better than PS2 versions.

If you want glamour and all the licenses etc and don't care bout gameplay, fifa i guess.

I cant stand the new Fifa game i think the gameplay is quite ropey and not really that fluid. Also dont like how EA seem to love making you have to do things with the 2nd Joystick :(

PES6 while doesnt look anything spectacular is really good, im just not keen on how the shooting system has been implemented. And at times it reminds me too much of an arcade beat-em up with the button combo's you have to press to do certain things.

download the PES demo and give it a bash :D

I don't know where you get ideas like this from. What a daft statement to make!

I'm well into footie, and I think FIFA is ace. As do many others! Some of the arguments Pro Evo fans use to back up their love of the game make me laugh! ;)

Anyway, FIFA 07 plays a damn good game of football. Add to that the atmosphere the game creates with its superb graphics and sound, I would seriously give it some consideration.

I've not played the 360 version of Pro Evo, and I'm not saying its crap, but don't dismiss FIFA because the all round package is pretty good! :)

Whilst it is obviously possible to love real football and prefer Fifa, I think that statement is used quite a lot because pro evo plays much more like a real game of football.

You can play any style of football you like, and after playing it for months you could still see something you haven't seen before.

The variety of goals you can score far exceeds those in Fifa, and again you could play for months and still score a goal in a way you haven't seen before.

Maybe Fifa 07 has closed the gap a little and now plays less arcadey and more like actual football, but it has been the case for years that Fifa just doesn't play like a football game you might watch on tv.

Snippety snip!!

I think it all depends what you want from a game, I suppose. I bought Pro Evo 5 (xbox) for my 360, and I really couldn't get into it.

However I did have ISS :) on my N64 years ago, now that game I couldn't put down! Its funny that they are from the same developer.

Maybe I just don't have the time to put into games that I used to, and can't be bothered to learn all the moves. I believe you can get Pro Evo 360 for around £25 quid from competitors, so I may give it a go!

I still stand by my point that I believe FIFA to be a well rounded experience overall, which shouldn't be overlooked! ;)

Cheers, Paul

Pro Evo 5 was the worst of the entire series imo.

Agreed, the N64 versions of ISS were superb, although it is worth noting that despite them both being developed by Konami, they were made by two seperate teams so were effectively two different games.

The ISS series was mainly an arcade based football game, whilst ISS Pro > ISS Pro Evolution > Pro Evolution Soccer, were always more of a football simulation.

I used to love the N64 ISS series, I only switched over when I borrowed ISS Pro 98 off a mate. Unforunately the ISS series was effectively killed off by a couple of terrible PS2 versions.

Although I would highly disagree, there's nothing wrong with preffering Fifa to Pro Evo imo. If some people get as much enjoyment from Fifa as many do from Pro Evo then everyone is a winner.

(And I didn't overlook Fifa, I always half believe they hype and so have high hopes for it, especially this years version. Unfortunately upon playing the demo it didn't take long to realise that it was the same old tripe. ;) )
