(And I didn't overlook Fifa, I always half believe they hype and so have high hopes for it, especially this years version. Unfortunately upon playing the demo it didn't take long to realise that it was the same old tripe. ;) )

;)

Yeah ISS was great. Didnt realise they used different development teams.

Pes6 is amazing, but I personally think the 360 version is pants, much prefer it on PS2.

Funny you should say that, I prefer PES06 on the 360, but all other platforms think that FIFA spanks it this year :/

That's odd. I much prefer 360 over other platforms (I have it on PC) I find the gameplay much smoother and it feels a little different in gameplay, but for me in a good way.

Check my work in progress website in sig for a little review of it :) (i am a bad writer though so don't criticise me too much :))

hey,

sorry for being slightly off-topic but can anyone give me tips for shooting on the x360?

when playing the leauges i dont seem too bad at it. Once I start playing on XBL though i find sometimes my striker will just let the ball roll by him or he will miss a sitter from the edge of the 6yrd box.

It's been getting really stressfull lol as i have been playing been i have been all over but unable to find the back of the net, only for them to have to handfull of changces and and knock one in  :(

One on Ones, hold the right trigger and tap shoot while holding up or down (depening on whether you want to go to right or left of keeper)

Holding right trigger in does a placed shot meaning that it is more accurate, by doing this in one on ones you are more likely to score.

Or if you're one on one, hold shoot and while the gauge is going up, tap RB which will do a little chip, you have to do this pretty close to the keeper though, and is usually safer to go with the first method of hold RT

also one of the most important things is your players state when shooting. For example if you've just turned on the ball, or have been sprinting, or are facing away from the goal then you're less likely to shoot accurately. Try and make sure your stable before you shoot.

Offside. Why can't this game get it right?

Half the time the decisions are very questionable and it some cases I'm actually fully onside. There seems to be no advantage with it either. Like when there player is offside but I get the ball, the game always stops.

Very frustrating.

Can someone tell me how to score a damn free kick in this game? I must have taken about 100 and 90 of them have gone over the bar and the other 10 have been tipped over/around the post. Ive also never seen someone score one against me.
Is it even possible?

Try reading the manual. It explains fully all the different controls when taking a freekick.

Then go into free training and take as many freekicks as you like until you perfect it.

I thought I was doing ok at this til Anderson just handed me my **** on a plate. The 2nd game I had one shot on goal and that took til the 76th minute :D Even in ranked i've never had anyone that has marked me so totally out of the game. Yet I still couldn't get near taking his players on in the same manner. I was muscled all over the park. The only goal I got he scored himself :(

I think I may use too much run with makes me over shoot the player I'm supposed to tackle?

Thanks anyway for the games, sorry I didnt or couldn't give you more of a fight. I only went england when you did to give myself a better guage of how i'm doing. If i'd gone inter or something I wouldn't have found just how far behind i am.

I always see you (Danny) and Anders0n playing it...If you fancy a game let me know :)

I'm usually doing one of two things playing in the league against the computer or my nephew. Or secret option no3 when my nephew has the head set on and i'm really playing his dad :D

Its frustrating playing me nephew cos when the little ****** scores he replays the goal and talks me through it for about 5 minutes.

I'm trying hard to get better as this is my first pro evo game, I will give anyone a game though in the pursuit of improvement. I'm sure Anderson saw how often I put myself under pressure in my own half trying to clear the ball. I run into all sorts of problems hitting A when trying to clear my lines :(

I've scored one free kick, never got the hang of them. As for the offsides, i find them a touch questionable as well.

Thanks for the games danny. You wern't bad at all, the scorelines reflected that.(2-0, 2-1). That own goal was hilarious though, Pass back to the goalkeeper and it just goes through his legs! :D

Andy I'm up for game whenever you are. :)

Free kicks are easy, as has been said use the training option to get practice, that way you can learn how to shoot from various positions, how much power, swerve etc to apply.

The free kick system isn't perfect imo, konami had it down to perfection in PES4 but for some reason made slight (but noticable) changes for 5 and 6. It's still the best free kick system in any football game imo, and once you get the hang of it you should be scoring quite frequently and at least going close almost every time.

Another quick point, the player condition arrow next to their name does make a considerable difference to their performance, especially with pens/free kicks. The minimum condition I let a player take a free kick on is regular (green sideways arrow). Idealy you should try to give free kicks to players with the best condition rating (red up arrow).
